VASES Vases are one of my favorite pieces to turn and absolutely one of the most challenging. They are completely hollow to the base. All of my vases have consistent wall thickness that typically starts at 1/16”-3/16” and slightly tapers to the base for strength. These are turned free hand with hollowing tools designed by my father-in-law. No fancy lasers to gauge wall thickness. It is measured by calipers and trued by sight, sound, and feel.
